Kanjin Therapeutics is a US and Japan based global biotechnology startup with pioneering interventions to restore kidney function and transform the treatment of chronic kidney diseases. Founded as a scientific spinout from Okayama University (Japan), Kanjin unites world-class expertise in kidney biology and translational medicine.

Our name reflects both our science and our mission. Kanjin combines 肝臓 (Kanzō, liver) and 腎臓 (Jinzō, kidney), underscoring our unique strategy of targeting the liver to restore kidney function. At the same time, 肝腎 (Kanjin) means “the essential core meaning,” capturing our focus on what matters most: making kidney disease a curable condition.
